London parking search

Find a place to check

Search for parking locations mapped with public access and no fee. Results are candidates for a visit, not a promise that a bay is empty, unrestricted or lawful for your whole stay.

Search mapped no-fee parking

Enter a London postcode or use your location. These are mapped candidates, not confirmed vacant spaces. Check the sign, access and any temporary notice before parking.

Enter a postcode to see nearby mapped places.

OpenStreetMap records show access=yes and fee=no in the snapshot from 2026-10-19. They do not show live occupancy, current suspensions or every local condition.

Parking data: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Postcode lookup: Postcodes.io. A homepage search keeps the postcode in this browser's URL fragment; submitting it queries Postcodes.io. Your device location stays in this browser. Recheck official council or TfL rules and the signs at the exact space.

    Start with your destination

Enter a full London postcode to place your destination on the map, or allow your browser to use your current location. The search compares that point with parking locations in a dated OpenStreetMap snapshot and lists the closest mapped candidates within eight kilometres. It does not send your current location to this site or store a search history.

A postcode lookup goes to Postcodes.io when you submit the form. The map opens OpenStreetMap when results load or you select another candidate. If either service is unavailable, use the source links and the official authority guide instead of assuming that an empty result means no parking exists.

    • Try a postcode near the destination, not one for a whole borough.
    • Use the map and source record to identify the exact candidate.

    What a result means

Each candidate was tagged in OpenStreetMap as a parking location with access=yes and fee=no when the snapshot was collected. A dot can represent a car park, a street-side area, a lay-by or a larger mapped shape. The displayed distance is straight-line distance, not a driving route or a count of available spaces.

Map records can be incomplete or wrong. In particular, a no-fee tag does not prove that a car park is open at every hour, that your vehicle qualifies, or that the area has no maximum stay. A location may also be full when you arrive. Open the original map record, then consult the responsible authority for current rules.

    • No live occupancy or bay-level reservation is shown.
    • A mapped free location can still have a time limit or other condition.

    Confirm the space on arrival

At the actual kerb or entrance, identify the road or car-park operator, read the sign and ground marking, and check for temporary suspensions. Match the whole visit against the permitted days, hours, vehicle class, permit conditions and any maximum stay or no-return rule. If the controls are unclear, choose a clearly signed alternative.

On a TfL red route, consult TfL's own stopping and parking guidance. On a council street, use the relevant borough or City of London parking pages. The interactive search narrows the places to investigate; it never overrides those official sources or the signs beside the space.

    • Use the parking checklist before leaving the car.
    • Prepare a legal paid fallback if the candidate is occupied.
