About Find Free Parking
This site explains how to verify a parking decision in London. It does not operate the old parking app and does not claim to know which individual bay is free right now.
Why the subject stayed the same
Archived homepage titles from 2009 to 2022 describe a guide to free and cheap parking in London, parking restrictions and an interactive zone map. Historic links also refer to London parking pages and an iPhone app.
The current publication keeps that broad subject while replacing obsolete app and map claims with current, source-led guidance. An archived URL is not evidence that its old advice still applies. We retain useful address paths where the new page answers the same purpose.
- The former iPhone app is not presented as available today.
- Archive descriptions are historical evidence, not live parking data.
How the guides are checked
The baseline sources are the Department for Transport's Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs guidance, TfL's red route information, and the relevant borough or City of London parking pages. These were checked on 12 October 2026.
We avoid fixed lists of free streets because controls can change with local orders and temporary suspensions. Readers should use the official authority information and the sign at the kerb for the final decision. Corrections should be made when a source or rule changes.

What we do not claim
This is an independent guide, not a council or TfL service. We do not issue permits, accept parking payments, maintain a live inventory of vacant bays or provide a substitute for an official traffic order.
A page about a London zone is a method for finding and understanding the right official source, not a certificate that parking is free there. If a location-specific restriction is uncertain, ask the responsible authority before leaving the car.
- No live availability or guaranteed free-space claims.
- No implied affiliation with government or Transport for London.
How to challenge or update a guide
A useful correction identifies the page, the exact statement, the responsible authority and a current official source or on-street notice. We can then revise the explanation and its checked date. A report that a particular bay was occupied does not change a rule guide, because this site does not publish live availability.
The editorial test is whether a reader can determine the next official check and understand uncertainty. We separate general national rules, TfL red-route guidance and borough-specific decisions. We do not manufacture a list of guaranteed free bays from historical content or describe the former app as active.
- Rule sources and their dates should remain visible in the guide.
- An unresolved location-specific conflict should point to the authority.
